The Bell of Truce
The ringing of the Bell of Truce is an ancient ritual credited with saving many a marriage. The bell is rung by the celebrant, then the groom, then his wife, the bell then taken home, where it resides upon the mantlepiece.

The traditions is that when ever there are harsh words being said, someone rings the bell, at which both parties stop and reflect upon their marriage vows.
