Requirements
- The Notice of Intended
Marriage (NOIM) form must be in my possession not less than one calendar month
plus one day prior to the date of marriage.
The
NOIM must be witnessed by either an Australian consular official or Diplomatic
Officer, or a Notary Public.
- Ensure you post the NOIM to me early enough to comply with the
time requirements.
- You can forward a scanned image of the document but must immediately post the original to me.

Ensure
you have the following to show to me when we meet before your wedding:
- Your official birth certificates or extracts of same showing the date
and place of your birth.
- Your Passports.
If
either of you were married previously, you must show me:
- Documentary evidence proving termination of marriage, or
the death
certificate of your previous spouse.
If
the above documents are not shown to me, I can not marry you. The penalties for
celebrants who break the rules are extremely severe. |
